Background

Concentric was retained to investigate through-slab leakage and general deterioration of a two-level cast in place parking structure serving a high rise condominium.

Approach & Methodology

The investigation, which included concrete coring and laboratory analysis, concluded that the leaking slab cracks had caused moderate to severe section loss in the reinforcing steel and had lead to extensive soffit delamination.

Concentric designed and tendered the repair program, which included complete slab replacement over a significant area of the intermediate suspended slab.

The project was successfully completed on time and on budget.

Key Challenges

Due to limited parking, the project required a phased alternate parking plan. The project schedule was also critical.
