Background

Concentric was retained to review a vehicle impact at McClure Place located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and report on the integrity of the structural system.

Approach & Methodology

Concentric personnel visited the site to visually review the impact damage that had reportedly occurred. The impact caused extensive damage to the brick facade of the entry way and rendered the entry doors unusable. As well, the impact area was in the vicinity of a main structural support column. The site inspection revealed that there were areas of relatively unstable damaged brick facade but otherwise the primary structure was stable and salvageable.

Key Challenges

In most vehicle impact assignments, there is an urgency to identify and accurately scope structural concerns and then take measures to safeguard the public.
