Background

Concentric was retained as the Structural Designer for a fertilizer blending and storage addition to an existing fertilizer distribution facility.

Approach & Methodology

The demands of short timelines and overall complexity proved that a great working relationship with the contractor was the key to project success. Concentric worked closely with the general contractor to coordinate the flow of information relating to the main support structures, access platforms, and various conveyor equipment. Concentric prepared the structural drawing package which also included equipment general arrangements and flow diagrams.

Key Challenges

Specific site conditions required great care when choosing foundations suitable for both the installed equipment and the given soil conditions. Restrictive geometry led to an innovative triangular bucket elevator support tower nestled between two weigh bins atop the load-out structure.
