ConcentricServices ● Indoor Air Quality

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), and in particular, mold, has become a significant or major common concern in commercial, residential and public buildings.

Molds are fungal micro-organisms that are found virtually everywhere and can grow on any organic substance. Molds play a vital role in nature by breaking down organic matter however, in the indoor environment molds have the potential to adversely affect indoor air quality, produce odours, and may result in significant health problems.

A quick overview of just a few of our mold and IAQ related services:

  • Inspection of building finishes, mechanical systems, ducting, and building envelope for potential mold presence and propagation
  • Verification of mold presence and species through laboratory testing
  • Risk assessment of potential problems associated with identified mold species
  • Investigation of worker complaints with respect to indoor air quality
  • Sampling and assessment of common indoor air quality indicators such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, temperature and humidity
  • The development of mold remedial specifications, abatement and prevention strategies in accordance with established protocols
  • On-site supervision and monitoring during abatement projects

We invite you to benefit from our depth of experience.

We have built our reputation on timely communication and responsiveness.

Nowhere is this more important than in monitoring of indoor air quality in sensitive, chronic care and infectious control environments.

We have the equipment and personnel to scope and characterize most indoor air quality issues, and to develop practical and cost effective solutions.

We are particularly cognizant of the care and attention required in construction monitoring.

At Concentric, we believe that eliminating the cause of mold growth is equally as important as identification and remediation of the mold itself.

Indoor Air Quality StudiesOur team of experienced inspectors is adept in the investigation of the building envelope and mechanical systems, paying special attention to windows, doors, siding, drains and other areas where water typically enters buildings, as well as ductwork, filters, and mechanical equipment.

In areas that cannot be directly observed, (i.e. behind walls) the use of a surface moisture recorder assists in determining if excess moisture is present.  Once the source of water infiltration has been identified and repaired, active mold growth can be eliminated, making way for a thorough abatement program.

Along with experienced building inspectors we also have a Certified Microbial Investigator on staff to aid in mold sampling.  Mold sampling is done with state of the art sampling equipment utilizing specialized techniques in order to gauge the degree of fungal contamination.
