Environment - Engineering - SEWAGE LAGOON BERM UPGRADES & COMPLIANCE

In 2005 Concentric was retained to undertake the design for re-profiling of the west berm of an existing sewage lagoon. Previous studies had concluded that the existing profile did not provide adequate protection against wash out.

Concentric prepared design documents that included the provision of erosion control measures and flattening of the downstream face of the berm. The work was tendered by Concentric and awarded to a local contractor.

Concentric provided full time site review and contract administration services for the duration of the work.

The sewage lagoon has been designated by the municipality as a back-up facility to the new sewage treatment plant, and as such, is to be maintained in a state of operational readiness.

The municipality requested in 2006 that Concentric prepare a Permanent Record File (PRF) for the facility that would comply with the Canadian Dam Safety Guidelines, and which would validate the municipality’s water license.
