In May of 2006, a tractor trailer carrying liquid asphalt collided with a line painting crew truck on an Ontario 400 series Highway.
The crash resulted in the tractor trailer careening off of the road and catching fire in the roadside ditch.
After life safety issues had been dealt with, it was apparent that the diesel saddle tanks on the highway tractor had ruptured and released fuel to the environment.
In order to effectively address environmental issues and mitigate liability, the transport company’s insurance provider retained Concentric to characterize the crash site, delineate the extents of the contamination and oversee all aspects of the remediation and reinstatement within the highway right of way.
