Concentric was retained in 2004 as resident inspector for the construction of a new sewage lagoon.
Concentric was selected based on our previous involvement in the community, our extensive expertise in the sensitive high arctic environment, our background in harsh climate engineering, and our familiarity with north of 60 construction techniques.
Concentric’s role included the contract administration for the placement of over 53,000 cubic metres of granular material, the placement of a Claymax® synthetic liner and the placement of approximately 30, 000 cubic metres of sand bedding.
Concentric worked closely with officials from the department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), the Nunavut Water Board and the municipality to address granular shortage issues as well as permits to take gravel in order to keep the project on-track.
The project was successfully completed in the late fall of 2004.
