Concentric was retained by the building owner to review and assess the condition of the original 4 ply tar and gravel roof.
Concentric undertook a life cycle costing analysis and provided recommendations for replacement, including the party room roof, which was supported on a Siporex (lightweight concrete) deck.
Concentric provided several options for replacement. A modified bitumen system was eventually chosen.
The assignment included the preparation of the construction drawings, specifications, and tendering. The project was tendered in April 2004.
During the roof replacement, Concentric was also retained to provide periodic inspections to ensure quality control and acted as a liaison between the contractor and client.
The project was successfully completed in July 2004.
