In the late summer of 2005 Concentric was retained to assess and investigate extensive wind damage to the roof and exterior walls of this modern wastewater treatment plant.
The assessment and subsequent investigation and analysis concluded that the roof assembly was not structurally adequate to resist the local wind pressures and gust effects.
The owner retained Concentric to provide full re-design and construction review services.
Because the facility had to remain in operation during the repairs, the repair program had to be as non-intrusive as possible
Concentric developed a workable solution that was able to re-use the existing steel deck and therefore required minimal disruption to plant operations.
All new materials had to be airlifted in, which required a significant logistical effort and no margin for error in the design.
The project was successfully completed in December 2005.
