Proposed Regulatory Changes to Ontario Brownfields Regulation
In October 2008, the Ontario Government announced proposed regulatory amendments to the Brownfields Regulation O. Reg. 153/04 Records of Site Condition. These proposed amendments are intended to round out a set of comprehensive reforms that Ontario started to implement in Spring 2008.
There are five key pieces to these proposed amendments:
- Enhanced Record of Site Condition integrity
- Off-site liability protection
- Streamlined Risk Assessment
- Strengthened Standards
- Complementary Amendments to Ontario Regulation 153/04
